Salcombe Gin

Rosé Sainte Marie

41.4% ABV

Distilled by Salcombe Distilling Co..

Specification

Bottle700 ml

A rosé-style gin: the Sainte Marie name and pink cast point to soft red berry fruit over the juniper rather than in place of it. At 41.4% it drinks dry, not sweet — berry skin and a little citrus peel up front, juniper and a clean, slightly saline finish behind, in keeping with Salcombe's coastal house style.

Serve — suggested, not sourced

TonicFever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, 1:2 — light and floral, so it doesn't bury the pink fruit

GarnishA slice of strawberry

Bramble

gin · lemon · sugar · creme de mure · blackberries

Shaken sour over crushed ice, blackberry liqueur drizzled through.

Why this gin — Rosé Sainte Marie already carries red berry fruit, so the crème de mûre extends the gin instead of masking it, and 41.4% is enough spine to keep the lemon tart.
